China – Turkey strategic projects

Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu Turkish Minister of Foreign Affairs met with his counterpart Vang Yi in China, where he was part of the official visit. At the joint press conference held after the delegations’ meetings in Beijing, Sino-Turkish bilateral relations, regional and international issues have been evaluated.
Mr. Çavuşoğlu stated that the cooperation between Turkey and China is continuing in the field of security and that they work on increasing trade and diversifying products. “We are increasing our exports to Turkey, especially for agricultural products.”

He stated that the two countries have very important projects to be realized together such as “Belt and Road” project and Middle Corridor project proposed by Turkey. They wish to build together the Edirne-Kars fast train route and the third nuclear power plant (İğneada) in Turkey.

Çavuşoğlu explained that Turkey is in the quest of a close working relationship with regional and international organizations, including the UN (United Nations) and ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations).
