China’s industry of nuclear technology applications at IAEA Conference

On September 17, on the sidelines of the 63rd session of General Conference of International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Cornel Feruta, the Acting Director-General of IAEA, made a special trip to the China booth, accompanied by Yu Jianfeng, president of CNNC. They exchanged in deep about the nuclear technology application and latest developments in industries, agriculture, medicine, security and other fields.

During the visit, Zhang Jianhua, vice director of CAEA, presented IAEA a set of nuclear security equipment developed by China National Nuclear Corporation. It is also the second time for China to give a gift to IAEA.

On the Chinese booth, Feruta learned in detail about China’s successful implementation of the micro-reactor low-concentration project in Ghana, Nigeria and other countries. He expressed hope that China will play a greater role in preventing international nuclear proliferation and explore the diversified utilization of nuclear energy together with IAEA.

On the sidelines of the conference, Yu Jianfeng also held talks with relevant officials in the nuclear energy fields, mainly from Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Iran, Kazakhstan, Argentina, and Pakistan.
