Four materials testing standards under the conditions of high temperature and high-pressure water, led by personnel from the Institute of Metal Research, Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Key Laboratory of Nuclear Materials and Safety Evaluation, Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), were formally released.
The four criteria are: “Test method for scratching and re-passivation of metal materials in high temperature and high pressure water in nuclear power plants” (T/CNS 3-2018), “Corrosion fatigue test method for metal materials in high temperature and high pressure water in nuclear power plants” (T/CNS 4- 2018) “Test Methods for Stress Corrosion Crack Propagation in High-Temperature High-Pressure Water of Metallic Materials in Nuclear Power Plants” (T/CNS 5-2018) and “Electrochemical Test Methods for Metallic Materials in High Temperature and High Pressure Water in Nuclear Power Plants” (T/CNS 6-2018) .
The statistics and data, deriving from this test and safety evaluation platform for nuclear power materials with will be also directly applied to the design, production process and manufacturing evaluation of key equipment used for China’s CAP series reactorsand Hualong No. 1 reactors, and at the same time itwill also be used in the failure event analysis and operational safety evaluation of nuclear power plants in service.
