CNI 23 wins Hualong installation

China General Nuclear’s (CGN’s) awarded the contract of installation for Fangchenggang nuclear islands Units 3 and 4 to China Nuclear Industry 23 Construction Company Limited (CNI23)*. These units are the demonstration project for CGN Hualong One reactor design.

The First concrete was poured for the nuclear island of unit 3 on 24 December 2015 and the construction of the unit 4 is set to begin by the end of 2016. Both units are expected to start up in 2019 and 2020.

*CNI23 is a subsidiary of China Nuclear Engineering and Construction Corporation
