On June 28, Mr. Wang Shoujun, Chairman of China National Nuclear Corporation (CNNC), met with Jordanian Prime Minister Omar Razzaz, Dr Khaled Toukan, Chairman of Jordan Atomic Energy Commission（JAEC, and signed a cooperation framework agreement to jointly promote nuclear power project cooperation. Pan Weifang, Chinese ambassador to Jordan, and Huang Mingang, chief economist of CNNC, attended the activities.
The Prime minister declared that the nuclear power project is a strategic cooperation project and the government will fully support the project. He hopes that the two sides will carry out multi-faceted cooperation in the energy mix and work together to diversify Jordan’s energy.
Wang Shoujun also met with Jordan’s Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Hala Adel Zawati, and the Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Mary Kamel Kawar to discuss Sino-nuclear cooperation opportunities in Jordan, new energy projects, power grid construction, and new town planning.
CNNC International Cooperation Department, Zhongyuan Company, CNEC-HTGR Company, and Institute of Nuclear and New Energy Technology, Tsinghua University participated in the above activities.
