CNNC launch Geothermal Industry Alliance

On December 8, CNNC Geothermal Industry Alliance was established in Beijing, marking the beginning of the development of geothermal industry in China National Nuclear Corporation (CNNC).

Qian Zhimin, general manager of CNNC, demanded that it should give full play of its advantages in research, design and exploration and focus on the development of geothermal resources in China.

In September of this year, CNNC issued the “Guiding Opinions on Accelerating the Development of Geothermal Industry and the “Three-year Development Plan of CNNC Geothermal Industry”, clarifying the overall requirements, general principles, top-level planning, Census, decentralization, innovation mechanism, co-ordination etc., as well as the geothermal industry development plan from 2018 to 2020.

CNNC Geothermal Industry Development Alliance is one that integrated unification, professionalism and platform in one unincorporated Union. The alliance is aimed at strengthening geothermal industry and promoting geothermal energy development and utilization in China. Guided by the national industrial policy and guided by market demand, the coalition builds a geothermal energy resource sharing platform for companies and a synergistic innovation Platform in geothermal energy development, geothermal industry docking and achievement transformation platform to build a clean, low-carbon, safe and efficient modern energy system.

The alliance will also integrate group companies, government departments and social resources to establish a communication platform among alliance member units, relevant enterprises, government departments and domestic and foreign counterparts, and at the same time improve the geothermal energy development and utilization capacity of alliance members and units to develop the industrial chain and promote the realization of the strategic goal of geothermal industry development.
