Qian Zhimin, president and deputy secretary of the Party committee of China National Nuclear Corporation (CNNC), was elected as an alternate member of the 19th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, on Oct 24, 2017.
As a giant of China’s nuclear technology industry, CNNC has established a complete nuclear technology industry framework. It is the core of national strategic nuclear forces and a leading element of national nuclear energy development. It also shoulders the responsibility of developing national defense and boosting the national economy as well as social development.
The successful election of Qian Zhimin reflects the Party Central Committee’s focus on the nuclear industry. It also indicates the strategic role CNNC plays in the course of national development.
