Construction permit for Taipingling NPP

On December 25, 2019, Taipingling Nuclear Power Project Unit 1, owned by CGN-Huizhou Nuclear Power Co., Ltd finally secured the construction permit, marking that the long-awaited Huizhou Nuclear Power Project is ready for construction!

Taipingling Nuclear Power Plant is another large nuclear power project planned by China General Nuclear Power Corporation in Guangdong Province following Daya Bay Nuclear Power Plant, Ling’ao Nuclear Power Plant, Yangjiang Nuclear Power Plant, Taishan Nuclear Power Plant, and Lufeng Nuclear Power Plant. The total investment is estimated to exceed 120 billion yuan with 6 units featuring the most advanced Gen-III technology in the world.

Once the project is completed and put into operation, the annual power supply will be more than 50 billion kWh, creating a green GDP of nearly 20 billion yuan. It can afford clean energy for the sustainable development in the Pearl River Delta and play an important role in promoting regional comprehensive competitiveness and promoting rapid economic development.
