China Guangdong General Group announced on January 6th that the scientific research project on million-kilowatt PWR nuclear power control rod driving system passed the expert acceptance review. It marks that China has fully grasped the key technologies of control rod driving system applying for 12 and 14 feet fuel assembly.
The control rod driving system, as the only action part of the nuclear power reactor, playing role in the reactor startup, power regulation and protection functions, is the “heart” for the safe operation of the reactor. Before this, the key components and materials required by million-kilowatt nuclear power plants under construction and operation are all foreign brands that need to be imported from abroad.
