Establishing CNNC-Mining Technology Company

On July 22, CNNC started the first round of reform of scientific research institutes 10 days after the 2019 scientific and technological work conference. It was represented by the establishment of CNNC Mining Technology Group Co., Ltd. in Beijing. Zu Bin, director of China National Nuclear Corporation, unveiled this new entity.

This new company was reorganized by CNNC 4th Research and Design Engineering Co., Ltd. and Beijing Chemical Metallurgical Research Institute. They are the only institute and engineering company specialized in the R&D and engineering design in the field of uranium mining and metallurgy. Their combination can further optimize the integration of high-quality resources, and strengthen scientific and technological innovation, and create a market-oriented platform for the transformation of advanced and efficient scientific and technological achievements. This new company will be an important innovation base for the comprehensive utilization of natural uranium and associated radioactive resources in the country. It will be an important part of CNNC’s basic research, technology research and development, transformation of results and professional technical personnel training system.

Chen Junli, president of this new entity, said that he will make every effort to build an integrated value chain of scientific research, design, engineering and industry, and do a good job in supporting the three major industries: natural uranium, comprehensive mining and geological mining extension.
