Four strategies to promote nuclear in Indonesia

The Head of the National Nuclear Energy Agency (BATAN), Anhar Riza Antariksawan, presented four strategies to bring nuclear science and technology to the community in Indonesia.

  1. To increase the downstream and commercialization of its research products. They are essential for the continuity of research and do not always depend on government funding or the Budget Implementation Entry List (DIPA).
  2. To become a modern organization and utilize Information and Communication Technology (ICT).
  3. To intensify the Nuclear Knowledge Management (NKM) program to maintain the competence of BATAN employees. At present, there is a considerable gap in expertise between senior and junior employees.
  4. To become innovative in finding budgets so that they do not only depend on DIPA.
