Hongyanhe Unit 5 to be completed in the second half of 2021

On January 29, Hongyanhe Nuclear Power Company held a 2021 press conference. In 2020, Hongyanhe Nuclear Power achieved 30.649 billion kWh of on-grid electricity throughout the year.

According to the world’s authoritative nuclear power statistics, 36 indicators of Hongyanhe Unit 4 have reached international excellence, accounting for 75%; Units 1 and 3 have been evaluated by the American Institute of Nuclear Power Operations (INPO) on the world’s nuclear power units, taking up the first place in all units.

The two Hongyanhe Phase II units have entered a critical stage before being put into production and generating electricity. Unit 5 is undergoing comprehensive commissioning before loading nuclear fuel and is scheduled to be completed for power generation in the second half of this year.

The equipment of Unit 6 has been installed, and the cold state functional test has been completed. It is planned to complete the power generation in the first half of 2022. By the end of 2020, Hongyanhe Phase II has a record of 3345 consecutive safe construction days.
