India is already generating almost 6300 MW of electricity through nuclear energy. The country plans to generate tenfold by the end of 2032 in collaboration with many countries like Russia, France and the U.S.A.
China has been in the past opposed to include India in the Nuclear Supplier Group (NSG). But money is more important than anything for the Chinese government and in particular the export for its state owned enterprises.
Mr. Liu Jinsong, Ambassador of China in India, indicated to the press that China is interested to start business with India in the nuclear energy sector.
China-India Strategic Economic Dialogue will be held on October 6 and 7 and will seek to strengthen cooperation in areas of infrastructure, energy (including Nuclear), environment, new and renewable energy and high technology cooperation. Xu Shaoshi, Chairman of the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) will be bringing with him a high-powered delegation consisting an unprecedented 220 members.
