Indonesia will learn from China

Indonesia will first study the technology of High-Temperature Gas Cooled Reactor (HTGR) from China before making its own according to Minister of Research, Technology and Higher Education (Menristekdikti) Mohamad Nasir.

Djarot Sulistio Wisnubroto, Head of National Nuclear Energy Agency (Batan) also declared that the research cooperation of High-Temperature Cooling Reactor for energy and energy purpose between Indonesia and China would strengthen the development program of the Experimental Reactor (RDE) in Puspiptek, Serpong.

Both countries wanted a joint laboratory in which both parties could share their knowledge and experience in the HTGR program.

At the previous meeting in 2016 in Guiyang, China, there was a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Scholarship Program and mutual recognition in academic higher education qualification, and 700 Indonesian students are continuing their education in China.
