Iran and Switzerland deal on nuclear safety

On March 2016, Switzerland President Johann Schneider along with ENSI Director General Hans Wanner visited Iran where both parties Iran and Switzerland exchanged information on civil nuclear safety.

On 28th of September 2016, during the 60th General Conference of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Iran’s nuclear safety chief Nasser Rastkhah and Swiss Federal Nuclear Safety Inspectorate (ENSI) Director General Hans Wanner signed an a mutual cooperation agreement in the field if nuclear safety.

Mr. Nasser Rastkhah declared that this agreement with Switzerland is a proof that Iran is interacting with international counterparts.

According to ENSI Director General Hans Wanner, this deal will allow to exchange on the international safety regulations that apply within Europe and Iran and to increase the nuclear safety in the region.
