The lack of nuclear engineering in Egypt will jeopardise Dabaa project, which requires the preparation of qualified managers to work with Atomostroyexport. Dr. Mohammed Knawy, President of Mansoura University and Dr. Mohammad Reza Ezzedine, head of the Nuclear Regulatory Commission and Radiation Supervisory Board, just answered to this weakness and signed a Memorandum of Understanding on scientific and technological cooperation during a visit to the headquarters in Cairo.
This cooperation aims to answer to the needs of Rosatom for Dabaa project, which requires the preparation of qualified managers to work in this project.
The significance of this cooperation lies in the implementation of international standards and inspection work in the field of radioactivity and nuclear power energy.
Both sides agreed on a joint research cooperation within the Faculty of Science and the Faculty of Engineering, to hold training courses on security, nuclear safety, international regulatory standards and radiation protection.
