The land acquisition process for the proposed EPR nuclear power project in Jaitapur, Konkan, Maharashtra has been completed. Energy Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule has given this information to the Congress. Chandrasekhar Bavankule said that the state government has assisted the central government in land acquisition for the 9900 Mw EPR nuclear power project in Jaitapur.
This project is being started under the auspices of Nuclear Power Corporation of India Limited (NPCIL) and Electricé De France (EDF). Jaitapur EPR nuclear power plant will have six reactors with combined capacity of 9900 MW. The project was signed on March 10th 2018, between both parties.
