Launching the second phase of renewable energy program in Saudi Arabia

Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Energy, Industry and Mineral Resources has launched the second phase of the Kingdom’s renewable energy program to produce more than 1,400 MW.

The second phase includes six projects divided into two categories: the first includes two solar power plants projects in Rafhaa, to generate 20 MW, and Medina, for the generation of 50 MW.

The second category consists of 4 projects: Al-Faisaliah plant with a generating capacity of 600 MW, Jeddah and Rabigh plants with a generating capacity of 300 MW each, and Al-Qurayat plant to generate 200 MW.

The Ministry of Energy announced that the results of qualification for the second phase of the program included 28 Saudi companies and 32 international ones.
