Made in China: the containment vessel access hatch

Earlier this year, the CAP1400 design has been submitted to the International Atomic Energy Agency in order to pass the Generic Reactor Safety Review.  The State Council is pushing the export of the CAP1400 and its supply chain as part of the 463 plan.

The Function tests of the containment vessel access hatch have successfully been completed for the demonstration CAP1400 in Shidaowan (Shandong province). The access hatch allows large components and equipment to be moved into the containment building during the construction of a reactor and during refuelling outages.
