New power in Suez

Dr. Mohammed Shaker, Egyptian Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy, announced that the ministry has contracted a company from UAE to upgrade the efficiency of the power stations.

In his speech during the “Builders of Egypt” conference on March 4, Shaker said that upgrading the stations will save Egypt large amounts of fuel consumed during the power generation. He pointed out that 65% of the costs of electricity generating goes to the purchase of gas and fuel necessary to complete “electricity generation” operations.

Shaker pointed out that the ministry is currently planning to complete the signing of contracts for the construction of a power station using the technology of pumping and storage in Suez during the month of June.
