New prospects for China in Latin America?!

On April 11-15, Zhang Jianhua, director of the Chinese National Energy Administration (NEA) of China, visited Ecuador and Argentina.

During his stay in Ecuador, Zhang Jianhua held talks with Mr. Carlos Pérez Garcia, Minister of Energy and Non-renewable Resources in Ecuador, to promote the solution of bilateral cooperation in oil and gas and power, and exchanged views on further deepening cooperation in various fields of energy.

During his stay in Argentina, Zhang Jianhua held talks with Nicolás Dujovne, the Minister of the Treasury, to promote cooperation in nuclear power, oil & gas and new energy, and signed investment cooperation intention on the peaceful use of nuclear energy between NEA and Ministry of the Treasury (Argentina)

During the visit, Zhang Jianhua investigated Sinclair hydroelectric facility in Ecuador and the Atucha Nuclear Power Plant in Argentina and hosted a forum for Chinese-funded enterprises in the energy cooperation field in Ecuador and in Latin America. He carefully listened to the energy cooperation proposals and guidance on the next steps in the Latin American region.
