Offshore nuclear power plant is an inevitable choice for China

Offshore nuclear power plants provide different levels of electrical support in various regions and environment, most commonly used in nuclear submarines and icebreakers. Moreover, the nuclear power plant reactor has an extremely long life, and the nuclear fuel is replaced every 12 years. Besides, the cost it takes is extremely low, and it enjoys various functions, which are extremely important for the strategic deployment of countries.

China’s first offshore nuclear power plant also received a permit recently, and the “sea floating nuclear power plant” is likely to be completed within three years.

However, China is relatively restricted by its design capability of large-scale marine nuclear power systems. And in nuclear power research and development aspect, it only has experience related to nuclear submarines. But it has already cooperated with Russia. Therefore, the offshore nuclear power plant is imperative in China though the problem is the shortage of technology.
