Research from the Energy Resource Institute (TERI) in New Dehli, shows that India produces 57 percent of the electricity from coal. India will reduce the use of coal under the agreement of COP 21 in Paris. According to the report, electricity generation from coal will increase in 2030, but it will represent 34 percent of the electricity generation against 44 percent in 2019.
Electricity generation from solar and wind will increase to 46 percent against 16 percent in 2019. The share of green energy in India total energy production will reach 50 percent by 2030.
Now, solar power production is six percent, and wind power is ten percent. However, in 2030 the production will reach 27 and 19 percent respectively.
The power generation from small hydropower projects and biomass will remain one percent and three percent respectively.
Large hydro projects will reduce power generation from 13 to 10 percent.
Gas power will shrink from seven to four percent.
The current nuclear power share will remain two percent.
