Rosatom Signs a Memorandum with Saudi Yamama

The Russian Rosatom announced that it signed an understanding memorandum with the Saudi Yamama for wind energy. The memorandum consists of cooperation in building and operating wind power plants in Saudi Arabia, supplying Saudi with Rosatom equipment, as well as helping Saudi in developing Petrochemical industry.

Rosatom considers the Middle East and North Africa a prioritized region for the company. During the Atom Expo 2017, which was held in Moscow with 65 countries participating in it, Rosatom said that it is executing projects for building nuclear power plants in Egypt and Turkey, pointing out that Jordan is continuing the pre-investment steps toward building its first nuclear power plant.

Rosatom has similar partnerships in Tunisia, Algeria, and Emirates.
