Russia and Bolivia Inaugurate the Business in the Lithium Market

Rosatom State Corporation and the Ministry of Energy of the Plurinational State of Bolivia signed a Memorandum of Cooperation in the field of development of industrial and research projects in the lithium industry.

The Director-General of Rosatom, Alexei Likhachev, and on the Bolivian side, by Minister of Energy Rafael Alarcon Orihuela signed the agreement on July 11th. The signing took place as part of the official visit of the President of Bolivia, Evo Morales, to Russia, in the presence of the heads of state.

The memorandum confirms the parties’ interest in cooperation on the development of the lithium industry. Rosatom and the Ministry of Energy of Bolivia intend to explore the possibilities of joint work on the exploration and development of lithium deposits, the exchange of information and research in the extraction and production of lithium and lithium products.
