Russia gets the license to build Hanhikvi

Rosatom and its partners may be licensed to construct Hanhikvi-1 nuclear power plant (NPP) in Finland next year. In view of Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev’s visit to Finland on September 26,

it is being said that the project to set up the HNH-1 NPP is now in the process of obtaining licenses. The licensing contractor for the plant construction and the NPP operator is being obtained by Fennovoiima.

Rosatom Energy International was expected to get the license in 2018, although its affiliates from finland have clarified that the license will be granted in 2019. According to the report, the capacity of the plant will be 1200 MW and it is planned to start

2024.
