Russia will compete for Saudi’s first nuclear power plant

The Russian Deputy Prime Minister, Alexander Novak, stated that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia plans to build its first nuclear power plant and Russia’s “Rosatom” company will participate in the competition to implement this project. Relevant necessary documents will be submitted in the near future.

According to Novak, relations between the two countries are developing very dynamically. As part of the work of the IGC, all areas of cooperation are discussed, both in the energy and transport, as well as construction, and social spheres.

The Deputy Prime Minister indicated that Russian companies are ready to support exploratory work in Saudi Arabia, within the framework of repairing and building thermal power plants and renewable energy sources.

Russia expects to develop cooperation not only in the construction of a nuclear power plant but also in the use of nuclear technologies for peaceful purposes in general.
