Significant increase in renewable energy capacity in Ukraine

According to recent figures by the Ukrainian National Commission for State Regulation of Energy and Public Utilities (NCER), the total capacity of new renewable energy facilities launched during the third quarter of this year was 956 MW, a six-fold increase over the same period a year ago!

The dominant sectors from July to September were solar power, which saw annual capacity increase more than five times to reach 780 MW, and then wind farms. According to these new figures, renewable energy currently accounts for 4.9% of Ukraine’s total production capacity.
