The Solar Heating Arab Mark and Certification Initiative

The Solar Heating Arab Mark and Certification Initiative, SHAMCI, is an Arab initiative that issues quality certificates for solar energy systems services and products in the Arab region. The project is a regional, industrial, and systematic framework for policy makers, manufacturers, and consumers.

The project was launched as an initiative by the Regional Center for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (RCREEE) in cooperation with the Arab Industrial Development and Mining Organization (AIDMO). It was also initiated by a request from the Ministerial Arab Council for Electricity in the Arab League.

The project is an inspiration from the European “Solar Keymark,” but SHAMCI is designed to suit the MENA regional conditions and needs.

 

SHAMCI for policy makers:

-Makes commercial borders and regional cooperation much easier

-Integrates the audit and inspection systems

-Creates more job opportunities

-Simplifies the testing methods with less cost

-Encourages compliance to industrial quality standards

 

SHAMCI for solar heating energy products manufacturers:

-Provides high quality products with sensible cost

-Makes product displaying for consumers better

-Achieves commercial volume in the industrial sector

-Starts new markets and creates export opportunities

 

SHAMCI for consumers:

-Makes high quality products tracking process much easier

-Insures secure, efficient, and trustworthy products
