The Turkish Atomic Energy Authority has issued three new guidelines / manuals in April and May 2017. These are as follows:
– 12 April 2017: “Procedures and Principles on Authorization of Radiation Sources for Entry, Exit and Transit Passage through the country and its Transportation ”
In this context, licensing process of legal entities that will carry out the activities of import, export and transportation of radiation sources, the rules to be complied with regarding the importation, exportation and transportation of radiation resources are explained.
– 12 May 2017: “Manual on the Preparation of a Radiation Protection Program in Medical Radiology Applications (RSGD-KLV-14)”
This guide has been prepared to guide organizations in the preparation of a formulated “Radiation Protection Program” designed to provide radiation safety in medical radiology applications.
– 12 May 2017: “Manual on Radioactivity in Radon and Building Materials in Closed Areas (RSGD-KLV-13)”
This guide intend to provide information on natural radioactivity resulting from radon and radon disinfection products that are frequently found in indoor environments in which humans are exposed and to provide guidance on how to limit the naturally existing radioactivity levels in materials produced for use in construction.
