Targeting 35% local manufacturing for El-Dabaa project

The director of El-Dabaa nuclear power plant project at NPPA, Eng. Mohamed Ramadan, said that El-Dabaa project is not only aimed at generating electricity; but also to achieve economic, social and political gains from the implementation of Egypt’s peaceful nuclear program.

On the sidelines of the Nuclear Suppliers’ Forum, organized by the Russian company Rosatom, Ramadan added that one of the main objectives of El-Dabaa nuclear project is to develop local industry and increase competitiveness in the Egyptian market as a result of the requirements and quality standards in the supply of nuclear equipment. This is achieved through reaching the percentage of local manufacturing for the plant targeted for when the fourth reactor is received, which is 35%.
