On June 27th, China Energy Engineering Group Planning & Engineering Co. Ltd- Northeastern Regional Institute and China Nuclear Power Engineering Co., Ltd. signed “Tianwan Unit 7&8 and Xudapu Unit 3&4 Subcontract for the design and technical service of the conventional island and BOP.
The planned capacity of Units 7 and 8 of Tianwan Nuclear Power Plant is 2 million kilowatts, featuring Russian VVER-1200 technology. FCD of Unit 7 is tentatively scheduled on December 31, 2020. Construction gap time of the two units is 10 months.
Xudapu Unit 3&4 plan to construct two million kilowatt-scale VVER-1200 PWR reactors as well as supporting auxiliary facilities. Unit 3 FCD is tentatively scheduled in October 2021. Two units are scheduled to be put into operation in July 2027 and May 2028.
*Northeastern Institute was awarded the design contract of conventional island and BOP of Tianwan Unit5& 6 in 2009. In addition, it undertook the preliminary design of AP1000 Xu Dapu Unit 1&2 in Liaoning. It is currently the only power design institute in China with the design experience of VVER-featured conventional islands.
