The enrichment of uranium is the support of nuclear exports

Technical Scientific News (TSS) interviewed Alberto Lamagna, the vice president of the CNEA about what it means for Argentina to master the uranium enrichment process, the tests to do it with laser, the challenge of moving in the field of sensitive technologies and the export potential of the project CAREM. You can find the complete interview here.

CNEA can enrich uranium up to 5%, but the Nuclear Regulatory Authority of Argentina made the operation license up to 1%.

For Argentina, uranium enrichment implies having the autonomous development of the entire fuel cycle and supporting nuclear exports, both for CAREM reactors and multipurpose reactors. It gives the buyer confidence that Argentina is a reliable supplier and guarantees the entire fuel cycle.
