The Influence of Morocco in Africa’s Energy Industry

The Director-General of the National Office of Hydrocarbons and Mines (ONHYM) in Morocco, Amina Benkhadra, is the 25th most influential player in Africa’s energy industry 2021 by the African Chamber of Energy.

Ms. Benkhadra heads one of the most important establishments in the Moroccan energy landscape, indicates the Chamber on its official website (www.EnergyChamber.org), thereby underlining Morocco’s efforts to achieve gas self-sufficiency and reduce its carbon footprint.

The Chamber also focused on the Kingdom’s progress in energy, particularly in terms of the production of renewable energies and gas self-sufficiency, as well as the expansion of the first gas export and import projects. This is the second annual list of the 25 most influential actors launched by the African Chamber of Energy.

As part of its Africa Energy Outlook 2021 report, the list profiles the personalities who impact Africa’s industry in 2021 through specific projects and initiatives in which they are involved.
