Three laws concerning Egypt’s entry into the era of nuclear energy have been approved by the parliament. These laws are important in preparation for the contract “Dabaa nuclear power plant” with Russia because the infrastructure must be in line with Egypt’s obligations before the construction of the 4 units of 1,200 MW each.
The first law includes the “amendment of the law of the Nuclear Stations Authority of 1976”, with respect to the second “amendment of the law of the nuclear and radiation control of the Council of Ministers,” and the third relates to “the law establishing the executive body for the establishment of nuclear plants.”
