Three competitors for a 500 Mw energy project in Oman

OmanPower and Water Procurement Company (OPWP) has received three tenders competing for a 500 megawatt solar power plant in the state of Ibri in the Sultanate of Oman.

Chief Executive Officer Jacob Al-Kiyoumi said in a press statement that the bids currently being evaluated are due to consortiums led by companies such as Marubeniof Japan, Acwa Powerof Saudi Arabia and Masdarof the UAE. Kiyomi expects that the contract will be awarded before the end of this year, or early 2019, the adoption of the mechanism of contracts for construction, operation and ownership (BOO).

The Oman Power and Water Procurement Company has recently started pre-qualification procedures for companies interested in the two independent power plants with commercial capacities ranging from 500-1000 MW in the state of Manh.
