Tunisia largest investment in Renewable Energy

Tunisia’s strategic plan is to invest in renewable energy, in particular in a large solar plant to fulfill the increasing demand for. The Tunisian Ministry of Energy and Mining is willing to execute the solar plan by 2030. The cost for this project will reach 7 Billion USD. This solar plan will fulfill 30% of the overall demand for energy in Tunisia.

The first photovoltaic power plant in Tuzir city in Southern Eastern Tunisia will fulfill 12% of energy demand in the country in the next three years. This power plant will be generating electric power by 2018. This power plant, build with a financial support of 10.8 Million USD from Germany will generate 10 MW of electricity.
