Turkey nuclear regulatory and supervisory agency

The Nuclear Power Project Implementation Office of the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources conducted a comprehensive study on the establishment of an independent nuclear regulatory and supervisory agency to ensure nuclear safety and security, according to information contained in the 2017 Annual Report.

While the “Nuclear Energy Law Draft” was presented to the Ministry as a result of the study, the draft of the European Commission and the relevant legislation of France was also included. “The radioactive waste management facilities and the technical visits of the nuclear power plants have been completed in France, where 20 experts from the TAEK Presidency and EÜAŞ have participated in. The relevant sections of the Nuclear Energy Law Draft are reviewed according to EU standards
