Tüv Nord and Türk Loydu nuclear cooperation

Türk Loydu, was established for ship classification in 1962. It is nowadays working as a national certification body in the Shipbuilding, Ship and Yacht Construction, Energy, Manufacturing, Transportation, Logistics and Defense Industry fields.

It expanded its certification in Turkey’s first national wind turbine and TCG Anatolian war ship, as well as marine vessels in Qatar and Turkmenistan.

 

The company intends to gain competency in the inspection and the certification services in the nuclear energy sector.
The Chairman of the Board of Directors, Cem Melikoglu,  announced recently that Turkish Loydu made a triple co-operation with German TÜV Nord EnSys GmBh & Co. KG and Turkish TÜV Technical Control and Documentation A.Ş. in order to be prepared for the nuclear energy certification.

TÜV Nord EnSys GmBh & Co. KG is a recognized certification body in many international projects and experienced on issues such as the design suitability of nuclear installations, manufacturing processes, necessary controls during the life cycle, training and certification of technical personnel.
Mr. Melikoglu stated that “the objective of this cooperation is the provision of necessary conformity assessment services in the nuclear power plants and in the medium-term, the transfer of technology, expertise and know-how to our country and the localization of the services”.
