Up to 35 new nuclear units in China!

China General Nuclear Power revealed that it is estimated that during the 14th Five-Year Plan period, 6 to 8 new nuclear units will be approved per year. This may account for up to 35 new nuclear units in China during this period!

Recently, China General Nuclear Power Corporation (CGN) affirmed that a survey believes that during the 14th Five-Year Plan period, 6 to 8 new nuclear units will be approved per year, which is in line with the national policy of safe and orderly development of nuclear power and is also conducive to the healthy and sustainable development of the nuclear power industry.

CGN indicated that in 2021, Guangdong Nuclear Authority will arrange Ling’ao Unit 2 and Yangjiang Unit 2 to participate in annual bilateral negotiations for anticipated capacity of 2 billion kWh, and the contract has been signed. While the other nuclear power units maintain the original 20% model-“better price and full delivery”.
