Will Bahrain adopt nuclear energy?

Dr. Abdul Hussain bin Ali Mirza, Minister of Electricity and Water, received at his office Helen Cook, a consultant and expert in nuclear energy strategies for peaceful purposes, on the occasion of her visit to the country, during which she discussed with the minister ideas and strategies that the Kingdom of Bahrain can adopt in the field of nuclear energy for peaceful purposes, on increasing electricity and considering diversifying alternative energy sources as nuclear energy is one of the alternatives. Helen Cook is counsel at Shearman & Sterling and author of the Law of Nuclear Energy and the Chairman of the law group of the World Nuclear Association.

Dr. Mirza expressed his appreciation for the efforts of expert Helen Cook in this area, stressing that this matter is the subject of research and study by the Government to consider the adoption of the best and most appropriate strategies in the field of nuclear energy for peaceful purposes, and in turn Cook expressed her thanks to the Minister Warm reception and fruitful discussion.
