Who wins the Main Pump of Hualong?

Recently, Shanghai Electric-KSB Nuclear Pumps & Valves Co. Ltd (SEC-KSB) signed 6 main pumps supply contract with China Nuclear Power Engineering Co., Ltd for Zhangzhou Unit 1&2. It is the first pump type purchase order of SEC-KSB in the Hualong nuclear projects.

Zhangzhou nuclear power plant, located in Yunxiao County, Zhangzhou city of Fujian Province, is featured the Gen-III Hualong No.1 technology. This project preliminarily plans six 1000 MW units while the first-stage project will build four.

 

*SEC-KSB :In June 2008, Shanghai Electric Group Co., Ltd. and KSB AG jointly venture established SEC-KSB Nuclear Pumps & Valves Co., Ltd, for specializing in designing and manufacturing nuclear pumps and valves. The technologies for all nuclear Class I, II and III pumps of the Company are provided and kept up to date by KSB AG. Besides, it has its own highly-trained design and technical team, it is also capable of introducing innovation based independent R&D.

In March 2011, SEC-KSB Nuclear Pumps & Valves Co., Ltd. started production formally. Based on introducing technologies from KSB AG, the Company will promote its process of localization and further independent R&D, aiming to become a specialized manufacturer providing Generation II+ and Generation III AP1000/CAP1400 nuclear reactor coolant pumps and pumps for all safety and non safety related auxiliary systems.

Currently, the Company has built Minhang Facility and Lingang Facility. The brand new Facility will possess an international leading full-flow test field which can test Generation II (Evolutional Generation II) shaft seal reactor coolant pumps and Generation III AP1000/CAP1400 reactor coolant pumps.
