China deepens cooperation with Argentina

During the recent “Belt and Road” International Summit Forum in Beijing, Mr. Wang Shoujun, President of CNNC, accompanied by Mr. Li Xiaoming, President Assistant, paid an official visit to the Argentinian President Macri, who came for the Summit Forum as well as the state visit to China.

The Argentinian delegation includes the Foreign Investment consultant Mr. Leiser, the Minister of Energy and Mining Ministry Mr. Aranguren, the president of the Argentina Nuclear Power Company Mr. Rubén Semmoloni and the leaders from the Industrial Department of Argentina.

Both sides agree to strengthen the nuclear cooperation and then reached an agreement in accelerating the nuclear project negotiation and construction.

Macri reiterated Argentina’s intent to increase the nuclear cooperation between both countries and expressed his wishes of the prompt implementation of the relevant deals.

In order to start the construction of the Candu reactors and the “Hualong No.1” reactors the soonest possible, Argentina will establish a specific team to work with the Chinese counterparts to start the commercial and the financing work. He stated that Argentina is ready in the site preparation for the Hualong n.1, expecting the construction to start two years after the Candu reactor.
