Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) unveiled the contract on a German-Egyptian consortium for the implementation of the fourth stage of the “H” power generation plant in the “Al-Aweer” region of Dubai, with a total value of AED 1.1 billion or about $ 300 million. The consortium consists of “Siemens” and the Egyptian “Elsewedy Electric” companies.
“The project includes the supply, installation and testing of gas turbines with a production capacity of 815 MW,” (DEWA) said in a statement on Tuesday 6 February 2018.
The turbines will start operating in stages starting on February 29, 2020 and should operate with full capacity by April 30 of the same year, according to the statement.
With the completion of the fourth stage, which is expected to reach a production capacity of 815 MW, the total capacity of the plant will reach 2811 MW. As the current production capacity of the plant is 1966 MW.
It is worth noting that the Authority currently has projects under construction with a capacity of 4000 MW, which seeks to increase the current production capacity of 10200 MW.
