Tender for the West Nile Solar power plant

The Egyptian Electricity Transmission Company received technical and financial offers from 13 international and local companies to compete for the tender for the construction of a 200 megawatt solar power plant of the BOO )Build, Operate, Own) type in West Nile in Upper Egypt.

The bidding companies include: Elsewedy Electric-IDF Consortium, Enerpal International, First Solar, Orascom Constructions, Scatec Solar, cbb Energy, UAE’s Masdar and Saudi’s Acwa Power.

The project’s investments are estimated at LE 3.5 billion, or $ 200 million. The Ministry has completed the studies of the topographical and geotechnical survey of the project’s land site in West Nile.

It should be noted that the Egyptian Electricity Transmission Company, has delayed receiving bids for the tender for the construction of a 250 MW wind power plan in the West Nile with investments worth over 200 million euros to the end of May, which was due to be received in March.

The technical and financial offers submitted by the 13 companies, which have been qualified through the stage of “Previous Business Expertise” tender, will be studied and analyzed. The winner will be announced during the third quarter of this year.
