Audition of Rosenergoatom for Akkuyu project

According to a statement from Rosatom, the IAEA Operational Safety Review Team (OSART), headed by Peter Tarren, audited Rosenergoatom, which is one of the shareholders of Akkuyu NPP and who will take care of the operational part of the plant.

The OSART team, whose audits lasted for 17 days, stated that the company was committed to nuclear safety and security principles. Andrey Petrov, Managing Director of Rosenergoatom declared in the Osart evaluation: “The implementation of the recommendations of the OSART team will help us further improve the operational safety of our nuclear power plants. The identified good practices will also contribute to increase the security in the world.” Peter Tarren, head of the OSART team, declared that Rosenergoatom is committed to security principles not only for Akkuyu, but on a global scale.

Rosenergoatom is responsible for the nuclear safety of 35 units in 10 nuclear power plants, including Novovorenej NGS in Russia, the reference power plant for Akkuyu.
