Licensing and Inspection of Industrial Radiography Operations in Kenya

From November 12 – 16, 2018, the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (US NRC) Radiation Sources Regulatory Partnership (RSRP) conducted a consultation for the Kenyan Radiation Protection Board (RPB) in Nairobi, Kenya.

Mr. Rick Muñoz provided information and guidance to Kenyan regulators and industrial radiography authorized users with the objective of strengthening their regulation of licensing and inspection of industrial radiographic operations.

The consultation resulted in providing the RPB with a number of suggestions and recommendations to improve and further develop their regulatory program related with new industrial radiography regulations, licensing reviews, and inspection procedures.
