Qian Zhimin in WANO

From October 21st to 22nd, Qian Zhimin, President of the State Power Investment Corporation, visited the UK to attend the 15th Biennial Meeting of the World Association of Nuclear Operators (WANO) in London. The theme of this biennial conference is “Building Together a Safer Future”. It has attracted more than 400 nuclear power business leaders and representatives from more than 30 countries and regions.

During the conference, WANO Chairman Tom MITCHELL and CEO Peter PROZESKY widely discussed the issues of nuclear safety, nuclear industry leadership, nuclear energy innovation, and new nuclear facilities construction. After the closing of the Biennial Conference, Qian Zhimin called on WANO Chairman Tom MITCHELL. Two sides exchanged views on deepening the cooperation between WANO and SPIC in order to jointly improve the safety and performance of nuclear power.

Qian Zhimin served as the chairman of WANO in 2010. This year marks the 30th anniversary of the establishment of WANO. Qian Zhimin attended the 30th anniversary of WANO as a special guest and was awarded the 30th anniversary medal.
