Coronavirus forces postponement of renewable energy projects in Egypt

Sabri Darwish, Project Manager at Intersolar Egypt Renewable Energy Company, announced that the company had to postpone the implementation of four solar power plants projects, due to concerns about the spread of the novel Coronavirus (COVID-19).

Darwish explained that the projects were postponed at the request of clients due to concerns about the spread of the disease.

He also pointed out that the company owns a stock of solar power plant components, which has spared the company negative impacts resulting from the halt of production in most of the solar energy component manufacturers in China.

He added that solar energy projects are witnessing growth during the current year, thanks to the tendency of most companies to turn to these projects in order to reduce their electricity consumption cost.
