New 300 MW solar project in Angola

During the 33rd summit of Heads of State and Government of the African Union, the Angolan minister João Baptista Borges stated that Angola’s renewable energy mix has grown from 40 percent to 60 percent. The country is committed to achieving this energy transition, which is to reduce the production of energy produced by fossil fuels.

João Baptista Borges said that his ministry was working with partners in promoting renewable energy projects. The new planned investment in 300 Mw solar energy is around 500 million USD and will be implemented in two years to spread it in remote regions of the country and far from the coastal area where electric energy is scarce.
